My name is Jodie and I started my own Here & Then box over 10 years ago. As a young teen, I was always frightened of death. That was until I lost my aunt in a motorbike accident; she was 49.

I realised it was not dying that I feared, it was the thought of the pain and grief my loved ones would go through when my time was up. After experiencing the loss of my aunt, I wanted to find a way to somehow lessen this pain for my family when my time one day comes. So, I began my Here & Then box.

Over the past 13 years, I have filled my box with notes, jokes, recipes, photos, documents, keepsakes, a family tree, and lastly, but most importantly, I have all the information and instructions about where & how I would like to celebrate my last hurrah.

At the end of my life, I want all the tough conversations to be answered, the decisions family and friends cannot agree on to be already made. I want the most important people in my life to sit down together, open my Here & Then box and find all the answers they need - while reading special messages, thoughts, and stories I have written over the course of my life. That's my Why.
